MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS

Nydia Track  | Grade 4 | NYDIA TRACK WEBSITE

Another stop on the NZ Enduro tour and for good reason, this spectacular track passes though lush coastal native forests with stunning views through over the Marlborough sounds.
Riders can either take two days to ride through with an overnight stop at the Nydia track lodge or pass through in one day which takes between 5-8hrs.
This is a very technical trail, with a firm base of mostly tree roots of all shapes and sizes!

To ride through in one day you will need a shuttle vehicle at the end, this is a very long shuttle so the recommendation is to use Blue Moon Backpackers in Havelock who can drop you off and pick you up.  Riding in and out from either end is also highly recommended with steady climbs and exhilarating descents.

Opouri Bridle Track

The historic bridle path is a great add on to the Nydia track, dropping off the Opouri saddle down to Duncan bay, where you can follow around the road to join in to the Nydia track.

Taking about 30mins to descend the 5km long trail is great fun.

If it was just too much fun, why not shuttle back up the tar seal road for another lap or two.
